Why do other
programs stop responding while transferring files with this application?
BurstCopy uses the
hard-drive in an exclusive fashion (i.e. at its true potential) in order
to attain maximum performance. This will usually cause other hard-drive
intensive applications to start slower, and be less responsive when accessing
the hard-drive.
This however can be
easily remedied. The Idle Time setting has been implemented to counter
just this undesired effect. It represents a period during which the application
will pause itself in order to allow other programs exclusive hard-drive
access. This goes to say that an Idle Time setting of 100 will cause the
application to do nothing for 100 milliseconds (0.1 seconds) each second.
