| How
can I maximize the application's performance?
There are two things
you can do:
1. Firstly, you
should decrease the application's Idle Time setting. This can be accomplished
by going to the Options window, and decreasing the Idle Time setting
in the Advanced page. This change can be done at any time, even during
transfers.
2. Secondly, you
could increase the application's transfer buffer size. To do this, go
to the Options window, and increase the Transfer Buffer setting in the
Advanced page. This change can only be done when the application is
started manually, and no transfers are taking place.
Apart from directly
changing the application's settings, there are a number of common steps
you could take to increase your hard-drive's performance.
1. Periodically
defragment your hard-drive. A disk defragmenter is supplied with Windows,
and various other commercial disk defragmenters are available on the
market.
2. Upgrade your
hard-drive. Newer models are far faster than previous market models.
When upgrading, keep in mind that higher rpms (rotations per minute)
and lower access times are the ones that decide the real performance,
not the hard-drive's storage space.
