What does this application need Internet for?

For three reasons, all of which are available for customization within the Options window.

1. To notify you when a newer version is available. This will ensure you always have the latest and most performant version.

2. To notify us of internal errors that the application encountered, so that we can fix them and release an update.

3. To help us improve the application's default settings by reporting its configuration. Reports will be sent at one week intervals.

Note: The application only connects to the Internet once a day, and it typically transfers no more than a few bytes.
